What is X-ray?

X-rays

What are the uses?

  • To view bone fractures
  • To view the lungs

Procedure

Depending on the area being scanned, a patient may be asked to change into the gowns.

The patient either stands or sits and the machine is placed over the region being scanned. The doctor leaves for a minute to run the scan. The exam takes only a few minutes to do, so patients taking x-rays do not need to schedule appointments.

Preparation

Depending on the area being scanned, a patient may be asked to change into the gowns.

After the Exam

After the exam, all regular activities may resume. See or call your doctor 3-5 days after the exam for results.

X-ray exams are quick and require no preparation. There is no need for appointments.

Patients may walk in for exams.
